Some questions are best answered by using an effective Google search, a grade-level appropriate database, or the index of a book.

Other questions are best answered by those who have lived through the experience students are studying. To understand the culture of GPS, including its traditions, beliefs, values, and history, we invited alumnae moms, grandmothers, faculty, and staff to join us as resources.
The interviews were so successful that we are developing a parent skills and knowledge inventory for future opportunities to connect. |
Twitter, the Global Postcard Exchange, Classroom Bridge, Facebook Groups and other resources can take you far beyond the classroom for answers. |
Students want immediate answers to their questions in language they understand. For 11 year olds traditional pen pal letters can be too slow, research sources too cumbersome, and my perspective too limited.
When appropriate, sending their questions out into the universe via Social Media can be exciting, empowering, and informative for all of us. |
